This Privacy Policy explains how Peppi AI ("Peppi AI," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Peppi AI mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email address. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google password.
- Tracking data you enter. Information you choose to log, such as compounds, doses, schedules, cycles, injection sites, weight, sleep, nutrition, workouts, and notes.
- Device and usage data. Basic technical information needed to operate the app, such as app version, device type, and diagnostic logs.
How we use information
- To provide and maintain the Service, including syncing your data to your account.
- To calculate dosing math, schedules, reminders, and progress views.
- To improve reliability, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- To communicate with you about the Service when necessary.
How your data is stored
Your tracking data is associated with your account and protected with per-user access controls so that only you can read or modify it. We use reputable infrastructure providers to host and secure data on our behalf.
Service providers
We rely on third parties to operate the Service, including authentication (Apple, Google), backend hosting and database services, and analytics or crash reporting. These providers process information only as needed to provide their service to us.
AI features and third-party AI processing
Peppi AI includes AI-powered features: the "Pep Bot" assistant and the meal photo scanner. These features are powered by Anthropic, PBC ("Anthropic"), the provider of Claude, a third-party AI service. We only use these features, and only send data to Anthropic, after you have explicitly consented in the app.
When you use these features, the following information is sent to Anthropic to generate a response:
- The message or question you type to Pep Bot;
- Relevant data you have logged in the app, such as your compounds/medications, dose schedules, and recent dose history, provided to give context-aware answers;
- Any meal photo you choose to scan (sent to estimate nutrition).
Anthropic processes this information solely to return a response to us. Per Anthropic's terms, your data is not used to train its models. AI responses are generated by Pep Bot and are for informational and educational purposes only; they are not medical advice. Health-related information
Peppi AI is an informational tracking tool and is not a medical device. Any health-related information you enter is used solely to power the app's tracking and calculation features. Peppi AI does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers described above (including Anthropic for the AI features you consent to, as described in "AI features and third-party AI processing"), when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Service.
Your choices
- You can edit or delete entries in the app at any time.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
- You can manage notification permissions in your device settings.
Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
